The first two singles from the Black Moon’s 1993 underground classic Enta Da Stage are collected here on this limited picture disc single through P-vine records. A-side “Who Got Da Props?” forced its way through the airwaves in the group’s native Brooklyn, and its raw power, goaded on by strong local support, helped it break through the billboard 100 in 1992. B-side “How Many MCs” was released a year later just before the release of the album.
The international merger of two titans brings us a one-of-a-kind release packed with linguistic intrigue. LA producer Jansport J and Tokyo-based DJ/producer BudaMonk bridge the east/west divide on their collaborative LP BudaSport. Across 15 tracks, underlying beats work as an adhesive, while dual languages spar and interlock in the foreground. Standout guests are featured heavily throughout the album. Veteran acts such as ISSUGI, 5lack and Daichi Yamamoto represent some of the phenomenal Japanese talent, while LA legends Thurz, Devin Morrison and Blu among others contribute verses from the US.Jansport J is a prolific figure in the Los Angeles underground, and alongside several solo LPs and collaborative albums, he is grammy nominated for his production work on Nas’ King Disease II. BudaMonk is also no stranger to US shores with his records regularly being distributed by Delicious Vinyl and Fat Beats. P-VINE Records is delighted to present their joint work as a limited edition LP release with a unique Japanese obi-strip attached.
