Tempo Temple (Caravan & Lord Safari) longtime Planet Trip family enter the stage with a heavy 12” of elevated machine jams and dance-floor ready heaters. The A side starts things off with high intrigue initialised through the exotica laden, midtempo weapon Spell. Steezy title track Enter The Temple (Outstanding Invoice Mix) splices together a forward facing arrangement with early Belgian New Beat DNA to create a downtempo track for the ages. On the flip the energy gets boosted up to the maximum. The heaving Days of Chandra is a pure, non-stop body mover primed to raise a dancer's heart rate. Its companion piece Nights of Chandra raises the pressure and enhances the euphoria. Closing off with the two steppin’ Spell (Transit State Remix), flipping the records opener into the garage and finishing things off in style.Another Planet Trip Sureshot!

Orlando Voorn is back on Heist after his 2022 ‘Heist mastercuts’ EP and comes in with a heavy dose of soulful machine funk. ‘Heist mastercuts part 2’ has the techno & house veteran showing his eclectic style with the vocal cut ‘Soundsystem’, Midwest inspired sample jam ‘High’ and his Boo Williams collaborative drum workout ‘909’.On the first Heist mastercuts, Orlando dove deep into his archives and presented a collection of old and new tracks, showing us that his music has aged well and reminding us that he’s a producer still on the top of his game. He kept busy in 2022 with releases on our own label Transient Nature, Kompakt, a handful of Bandcamp only tracks, and a self-released album. Somehow, he found the time to work on his follow up ep on Heist and managed to completely blow us away with the music. The EP kicks off with Soundsystem: a masterclass in simplicity. A steady and minimalistic groove guides you through the track, where silky vocals and woozy chords take you on a trip through Orlando’s sonic universe. Orlando moves into freak mode with a trippy lead and dubbed-out keys to add some playfulness to an already outstanding track.‘High’ is Orlando’s take on what could easily be an old Andrés track. Here, he samples a female vocal (I get high, I get high, I get high), and cleverly adds his own vocals to add depth and originality to the track. The percussion on high grooves in an effortless way and underlines the feel of this track: It’s fun, cool and incredibly funky. There’s a bit of Dam Swindle sauce on the mix to make sure this track hits the right spot on any dancefloor. On the flip, there’s ‘Day by day’: A classic Orlando Voorn cut with a live bassline, plenty of chopped samples and a Rhodes loop that could have come straight from a B-roll of a ‘First Choice’ recording session. The b-side ends with a collab with Orlando’s close friend Emil and legendary Chicago producer Boo Williams. The producers take a monologue from Boo Williams about working the 909 and deliver a drum workout -yes with the 909- that keeps on building energy, showing exactly what Boo is talking about. The digital package also includes an instrumental mix of Soundsytem and an alternative mix to 909, just for good measure. This is the first artist release in our 10 years of Heist anniversary year and this EP perfectly encapsulates the Heist Sound: varied, deep, soulful, and banging.
Toy Tonics brings back the Kapote album. 10 dancefloor tracks originally released 2019 on the „What it is“ album. Now reworked, re edited and with 2 new tracks.House music, but with a heavy jazz-funk, brasil, lofi - influence. A mood that reminds early Moodymann, Kerri Chandler or 1990ies Paris stuff. Loft Disco and Indie House. When this album came out originally 3 years ago it caught the attention of many great DJs. DJ Harvey was playing „Jaas Func Haus“ a lot at Pike in Ibiza and Gerd Janson, Motor City Drum Ensemble, Kenny Dope and Blessed Madonna were filmed playing other tracks from the album.Kapote doesn’t release much music as he is mainly involved in the Toy Tonics label development, creative direction and is also in many productions of other artists that release on Toy Tonics. Originally a piano and art student, he later discovered DJing, nightlife, electronic music and by now is doing what he does with Toy Tonics with a couple of friends and like-minded producers.Kapote’s real name is Mathias Modica and if you google this you will find out he has been doing music before Toy Tonics under the name of Munk. Doing another label called Gomma Records. Where he and some friends already created a little universe based on electronic music, street art, DIY culture, shirt design, underground exhibitions. Mathias aka Kapote aka Munk has produced and released records with artists like Peaches, James Muprhy and Nancy Whang of LCD Soundsystem, The Rammellzee and WhoMadeWho. This is the past. The future will be new Kapote stuff currently in the making with Cody Currie and Sam Ruffillo. Meanwhile check out WHAT IT IS – 2nd VERSION.
131bpm's first EP is a four tracks floor filler. It fully represents the spirit of Vitamina's parties: bouncy and banging. Punchy techno to vocal electro, as well as ghetto house and 90's groovy tracks.
It's been a long journey for Romain Bezzina aka Zero Netcost ever since 2002 when he discovered the band that would become his favorite of all time: The British duo Bent through the amazing track "Always" remixed by Ashley Beedle.Twenty years later, the circle is complete with this compilation of remixes from all his idols including, of course, a beautiful atmospheric/downtempo remix from Bent, a cheeky mega drive mix from Simon Mills (one half of Bent), a chunky sunny remix from the legendary Ashley Beedle, and to complete this nice bunch of guys, a very nice sharp balearic remix from the amazing I:Cube. Enjoy!
Mézigue aka Mezmother from different brother comes back with a new 4 trackers based on the will of D. (as being part of it). Represent is the first collaboration between Mézigue and Mad Rey on this D.KO release showing their roots. SIXK is pretty much on the same vibe but UCHU A NO NEKO is a Japanese-ish electronic ballad full with the mézigue’s melodic instinct. MO D. BASS is a d n b track asking for more drum n bass. Mézigue is still looking for the last island in the new world using the path of electronic music. As they say if you ain’t like it ain’t listen to it.
REPRESSYoyaku presents its third release with an album by talented dutch artist Roger Gerressen.
Grooves to glide through life to, a simmering rhythmic embrace that carries along the soul and lifts the heart to cloud 9, taking away the aches and ills and serving to place the floor in an enchanted space, ethereal and euphoric, up above the clouds….Jesse Bru makes music from the heart, a peer-to-peer connection that works on a multitude of levels, and this all comes about from the approaches he makes within his style. Primarily residing within the realms of House and Deep House music, Vancouver-based Bru took much creative guidance from the techniques embedded with 90s hip hop, and translated this over four on-the-floor rhythms to much-celebrated reception. The music he crafts feels interconnected as a result, never overhyping or building itself into a climax, it simply floats along effortlessly, a continued and delicately considered symbiosis of rhythm and melody that he has constantly tinkered with – and his discography speaks for itself. Releasing on a who’s who of excellent contemporary dance music labels, Bru has always found room within his sound for growth and reflection, with each new release feeling like a meditation on all that has come before and thus provides fuel for sustained brilliance. His works read so well as a collection but the individual stanzas within each release are a perfect snapshot of all he is capable of. Some selected highlights include ‘Roach Fingers’ (released in 2015 via Egoplanet), ‘Space Jazz’ (released in 2017, via Rhombus), ‘Ships in the Night’ (released in 2018 via Inhale Exhale), ‘Rainforest’ (released earlier this year, via Aterral), and of course, his debut LP ‘The Coast’, which was released on Happiness Therapy in 2020.His latest release, ‘Sleazy F.M’, arriving this November on Last Year At Marienbad, continues onwards with his more recent excursions into overtly 90s feeling House music, and this period of his musical output is truly something to behold. Razor sharp fast-paced rhythms, delicate melodic sequences, and an overall air of breezy yet energetic energies, this new EP continues to peak our interest and showcase just what Bru is capable of. The opener, ‘Feel It’, is a burner of the highest quality, as a hugely scaled beat structure provides the basis for a rolling chord sequence to do the damage up top, its presence residing just beneath the hats as filtered vocal samples float in and out of view to great effect. The breakdowns really hammer home the emotive levels, as stabs are placed within the groove for maximum impact. ‘In a Moment’ arrives next, and this takes the pace down ever so slightly, but the craft remains at a very high level indeed. The relationship between rhythm and melody is consistent, a tad more sultry here as we sway to the beat, with the vocal work here particularly effective at setting the mood. ‘Noodle King’ adds some adrenaline into the experience, with the choppy breaks pointing all fingers to the dance. The chords that drive on through into the spotlight only serve to fuel the energy, with the extended breakdown aiding us as we climb our way toward euphoria. Last but not least, the title track, which returns us to the notions of the opener, and as a final chapter, its a very satisfying send-off. Rolling, lick-filled beats, dreamy subtle chordal twinkles, and an atmosphere to die for, it’s a pleasure ride, and it’s time to get on board. If you ever find yourself needing something rhythmically pulsating in your life, then this record is for you, as Jesse Bru continues to impress with his ever-evolving yet indefinitely precise take on House. A cut for all times of the day or set, this is House music to delve deep within, an invitation to get to know all the beats and clicks, swimming between the layers as if to soak up every last morsel of goodness. Summer might be over, but Jesse Bru and Last Year At Marienbad have the cure for those cold chills. So go on, treat yourself; it’s well worth the ride….
From spearheading France’s jazz-house and electronica scenes, to amassing millions of streams for lauded tracks such as Ode To Love, Manhattan To Brooklyn and Artifice, Tour-Maubourg is a flag bearer for modern French electronic music. Reminiscent of St Germain from years gone by, his maiden album – Paradis Artificiel – received critical acclaim upon its release two years ago. Now, his new album Spaces Of Silence continues in such a vein, representing a tribute to his home country of Belgium and embodying a year long journey into deep, musical solitude.
The “Identity of our Sound” Various Artist compilation is a collective of like-minded, forward thinking, and passionate music makers from around the globe, compiled together and scouted by Chez Damier. This double disk will take you on a journey, track to track, and will give you the opportunity to identify and feel the identity of their sound.Disk 2Reilab – Unconscious ReliefUsing your imagination: Your all-night dance is slowly coming to an end at a long-lost party off the coast of Ibiza. The sun is rising. Straddlers are all heading off separate ways as the shore washes up for the end of the dance. What an atmosphere. This could’ve been made in the late 90s or the early 2000s where these kinds of parties were all the go. Absolutely euphoric. Nothing else to be said for this beauty.Mosis (ft. King Jet) – Pick It UpHeading into deeper and darker territories this one by Mosis will be sure to pick it back up.We are shuffling along with some nicely creative drum programming. Throw in some vocal chops and unpredictable melodies, sounds and clicks and let’s pick it up.Damian Rausch / H2H – Together ( Dub Mix)On the B side, the hearts of Ben Vedren and Chez Damier combine with young talent Damian Rausch who can do no wrong at the moment and this remix is no different. Gradually building and anticipating from the start, this one turns into a total shoulder shrugging frenzy of deep and delightful sounds. A straight dancefloor weapon. Deep but soulful.Oscide – No UseRounding off this clever compilation is the alias of Dublin native Craig Scully that is Oscide with his track “No Use”. With his signature percussion elements and driving bassline, this deep minimal and loopy beat will get you moving. If you feel like you want to bop your head, don’t fight it as this one will be of use to you when you embrace the dreamy vocal sample on top of the sublime stab sequences and sounds.
Balearia Records continues its personal trip around the pure house rhythms."Playa d'en Bossa" is a mix of beautiful melodies drifting over a shuffling drum pattern and tumbling percussion.Heady and hypnotic mood, and who better to kick things off than some Italian heroes like Daniele Baldelli, Marco Dionigi, Fabrizio Fattori, Claudio Tosi Brandi and more. In the world of Dance, the 90s were characterized by the worldwide explosiion of House Music. Among the protagonists many were artists and producers of Italian origin and this sub-genre was called Italo House. This double vinyl collection contains 12 classic songs from that magical period, all in the original 'full version', by: Don Carlos, Soft House Company, Double Dee, Tameka Starr, Key Tronics Ensemble, Omniverse, Jestofunk, Riviera Traxx, Kipper, Aritmya, Be Noir e Bossa Nostra.
Italo-House classic “Tumbe” released in 1992 on Irma Records with Murk edits is here again with new fresh remixes. Cesare Collina aka Tito Valdez and Umberto Damiani join forces 30 years ago to make “The big nowhere” version; with percussions played by Cesare, tropical voices and trancy pads. On the remixes duties we have legendary Riviera hero Ricky Montanari, Dirty grooves master LTJ and the young House head Hill. Ricky found an unreleased remix jam of “Tumbe” he did in the 90s with his classic Riviera Traxx groove which doesn’t need any presentation. LTJ made a slow version with his unique beat, accompanied by atmospheric pads, lovely electric guitar riff and classic Rhodes. Hill made a Paradise mix with dreamy Pianos, funky bassline and old school strings which goes to close this record in the best way.
Among those who have written the history of the Italian House is certainly Carlo Troja, aka Don Carlos. In 1991 Irma Records released her first single Alone which immediately became a cult record for DJs across the Channel and especially American DJs. Its particular soft and ambient sounds defined a genre that was then called Paradise House. And it is precisely from this genre and from this Dj that Irma Records began the celebrations of its thirtieth anniversary a few years ago byproposing a selection of its catalog chosen by Don Carlos, trying to dig among some of the pearls of the genre but above all among somesongs that featured in his evenings but were less popular at the time of their release. This compilation had a great response and it was decided to make a volume 2, always selected by Don Carlos. Also this compilation, like the first one, consists of two compact discs and a vinyl version this time with a selection of only 8 of the 20 tracks contained in the CD and Digital version. All the tracks on the double vinyl have been re-edited by Don Carlos for the occasion. The double cd is in a limited numbered edition.Among the artists and producers included are: Don Carlos, Lust Unlimited, Subsonic Posse, T.M.V. (Marco Trani, Moz-Art and MaurizioVerbeni), The Sweatbox Orchestra, Aritmya, Deep Aural Penetration, Be Noir, Love Nation, More Heavy Soul, Outdance, F.I.T.Z. and manyothersBasic Frame Distribution · IRM2128 / Don Carlos - Paradise House Vol. 2

Marco Scozzaro is an Italian multidisciplinary artist based in New York. With his project l’oggetto he produces underground house music, blending jazz/funk influences with a deep Italo flavor. Starting off in hardcore-punk bands in the ‘90s, he eventually embraced club culture, electronic music production, and DJing. In 2020, he co-founded MKDF Records to release tracks that have been lying in his studio for too long. “Musica da Discoteca Vol.2” is the second of a series of EPs exploring the musical connection between Italy, Chicago, Detroit, and New York. Deep bass, dirty grooves, dreamy pads, and obsessive samples build up in these 4 new tracks, as an homage to underground dance music from the ‘90s.
